CONGRATULATION

" It is my honour and pleasure to present to you the Insignia of MEMBER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (M.S.K) for your contribution in the sector of education."

Right Honourable Sir Aneerood Jugnauth G.C.S.K, K.C.M.G, Q.C- President of the Republic of Mauritius.

If only I could not write these few words, I would, instead, made a beautiful picture of a man proud of his country and working for the advancement of his country - the kind of picture that inspires the heart.
You would probably wonder of what I mean?
I am simply referring to the title of “MEMBER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN '(MSK) awarded our Rector Serge Ng Tat Lung Shih Chung, by the President of the Republic, Sir Aneerood Jugnauth.

Mr. Ng Tat Chung was awarded for his contribution to national education. It is a new chapter in our history of the St Joseph’s College that has been written - a history already well furnished. Our pride is even greater as our Rector is also a “Joséphien” in due form, having been a student and teacher before taking his current position as head of administration.
Mr Ng Tat Chung is the only Rector in service to have been elevated to the rank of MSK in the Republic of Mauritius.
Is this not the target, to which we all aspire, at the St Joseph’s College, to promote our island?
Is this not the inspiration of each Mauritian who loves his country as his motherland?
Is this not what animates the heart of each one when listening to the melodious notes from ‘Glory to Thee'?
By this, I suddenly realised the full extent of the decoration given on the occasion of the Day of Independence of Mauritius.
